Jaime called the meeting to order at 8:00PM with the traditional Moment of Silence. Officers' Reports;President Jaime - Informed us that Denise had been in the hospital as a result of popping a tendon in her thumb! The plan was to remove a tendon from another part of her body but upon second thought was going for a re-evaluation and not feeling well when she was told she had pneumonia! "and into the hospital she went..." She's home now recovering and hopefully almost 100%... we all wish her our best! Vice President Ken - Nothing to report this week. Chief Legislative Officer Mike E - Same as above. Treasurer Simo - It just wasn't the same... mia! IMPORTANT... ANYONE WHO HAS NOT PAID THEIR DUES... WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU BY THE NEXT MEETING OR YOU'RE OFF THE MAILING LIST AND WILL MISS ALL THE FUN... JUST LET US KNOW YOU'RE STILL IN! ! ! ! COME ON, JUST DO IT! ! ! ! Referee Laszlo - Jaime 42, Eddie 31, Simo 30, Mke E. and Ken 26... everyone else, "get ya motor runnin..." Sgt-at-Arms Eddie - All's quiet! (light turnout) Secretary Bob - Suggested we get the minutes up on the web, Jaime will handle. Old BusinessMembership Committee; Getting new members is never easy, let's keep at it. Mike E's doing the business card which will help... but we'll need to make the sales pitch along with the cards. There's much we do very well... we need to let prospects hear it all! Pop's Run; Need members to sell those raffle tickets! Sell, sell, sell... MUD RUN; Dave F's getting close... "it's almost soup..." Club Run; Ken's come up with two more establishments, still sorting it all out. Cross Island MC 60 Anniversary Party; Looks like it's just Jaime and yours truly. If anyone would like to join us don't hold back. Ride to Eat; Minado's was expensive, $28.95 but good if you can eat a bunch. Jaime, Eddie and Simo did us proud! They're not allowed back! Next up, Five Guys Burgers in Amityville. Bike Nite at Mineola; As soon as it looks like a good evening, weather wise that is, on a Thursday Nite we'll send out the e-mail and do it. Stay posted. Cross Island Road Tour - Was a hit! Route was crazy and roads, at least some of them, we've never been on before. We even had a Twilight Zone moment... we were split into two groups and the first one caught up to the second one. You'll just have to make the meetings if you want to understand. Hint, a record twelve U turns by group one! Hey somebody had to do it! New BusinessERC; Bob to follow up with Trama's. More to come, I hope. VTX Riders - No info on their site but if you've kept up with e-mail it's a parade and the plan was to sign and split. Ramapo Spring Run - Sun, 05/23, Scobee 7:30/8:30... it's a scrabble run... teamwork! Charter Oak - Fri, 05/28 Sweet Hollow 10:00/11:00 if you want to ride up with Jaime via the ferry. Anyone else going can start the e-mail chain and work other plans. Lend-Helping-Hand - Sat, Sweet Hollow, 05/29, 6:15/6:30 no typo, really not a run but a good thing to do. We place flags on the gravesites of the Vets in Pinelawn. It's not hard, takes an hour or a little more and then we go for breakfast. You'll feel good about yourself after this. Long Island Loop - Sun, 05/30, It's been years and I can use the saddle time. We meet at the Police Barracks on the Southern State in Valley Stream at 6:45 and rollout at 7:00. Just like the Five Bar Tour only I know the route. We ride all day but you can break off at anytime. You'll probably spend $75 between breakfast, lunch, gas, et all. Nice day if the weather helps. Americade - Nothing formal this year... do ya own thing, e-mail the members etc. Tour de Cure - Mike E is riding again and collecting donations. "give him the dough, give him the dough..." Ken won the 50/50! And we came up with a new rule; large bills are accepted if you don't have a single! Who says we're not flexible! |
